Three ways to start, listed in the order most people use them. The first one is free and takes a few minutes. Nothing here requires you to commit to anything before you understand your own situation.
A short set of questions about how reflux is actually affecting your eating, your sleep, and your daily life. At the end you will see where your answers place you on the Downward Reflux Spiral, and you will get the written guide that explains the stages, what each one tends to mean, and the questions worth asking your own doctor next.
The quiz and the guide are educational. They are not a diagnosis, not a medical opinion about your case, and not a substitute for care from your own physician.
Dr. Pandya walks through the spiral in full: why reflux is a mechanical problem as much as an acid one, what the stages look like from the inside, how people end up stuck moving down instead of up, and what actually changes the direction. Built for the person who read the guide and wants the whole explanation rather than the summary.
Educational content only. It does not create a doctor-patient relationship and is not personal medical advice.
For people who want Dr. Pandya as their treating physician rather than a source of information. She practices with Freedom Medical Group, an insurance-based private practice, which is where one-on-one patient care happens. She sees patients in Fresno and in Porterville, and patients travelling in from outside the area are a normal part of the practice.
Dr. Pandya sees patients at two offices in California's Central Valley, in Fresno and in Porterville. Both are reached on the same phone line, and patients travelling in from outside the area are a normal part of the practice.
The Fresno office is in the medical complex on North Chestnut Avenue, just north of Herndon, with parking in the complex itself. Call to arrange an appointment or to ask whether your situation is one Dr. Pandya can help with.
Take HWY 99 North, then the HWY 41 North exit. Go north and take the Herndon Avenue exit heading east. At the intersection of North Chestnut Avenue turn left, going north. Take the first left into the medical office complex.
Take the Herndon Avenue exit heading west. At the intersection of North Chestnut Avenue turn right, going north. Take the first left into the medical office complex.
For patients coming from outside the region, flying into Fresno-Yosemite International Airport (FAT) is the straightforward option. Many cities are a one-hour direct flight away, and the airport continues to add routes. It is a medium-sized airport with good connections, easy to navigate, and wait times are short. Rental cars are available on site.
Patients with appointments in Porterville also fly into Fresno, since it is the major airport for the region, and drive down from there.
The Porterville office is on West Putnam Avenue, the fourth building on the right, near Sierra View Medical Center. This location is also home to the practice's own same-day surgery center.
Take HWY 65 South and exit on Olive Avenue. Turn left and head east, then turn left on Villa. Turn right on Putnam Avenue. The office is the fourth building on the right. If you reach the Sierra View Medical Center emergency room you have gone too far.
Take HWY 65 North and exit on Olive Avenue. Turn right and head east, then turn left on Villa. Turn right on Putnam Avenue. The office is the fourth building on the right. If you reach the Sierra View Medical Center emergency room you have gone too far.
The Porterville location is home to the practice's ambulatory, same-day surgery center. Upper and lower endoscopy, colonoscopy, hernia repair, breast biopsies, mass removals, varicose vein treatment and other procedures are performed here, in a calm environment rather than a hospital one.
Patients receive one-on-one care throughout, and the process is built to keep people comfortable during the procedure and still send most of them home within an hour of finishing.
General surgery referrals are accepted at both locations, including GERD, hiatal hernia, Barrett's esophagus, gallstones, hernia repair, screening colonoscopy and the full general-surgery range. There is a separate fax referral form for each office; both fax to the same number.
Fax referrals to (559) 782-8544. Questions: (559) 782-8533.
Dr. Tejal Pandya practices with Freedom Medical Group alongside Gaurang Pandya, M.D. Se habla español.
The quiz, the guide, and the webinar are education, not treatment and not a diagnosis. Their job is to give you a framework and language for what has been happening in your body, so you can ask better questions of whoever is already caring for you. If you want Dr. Pandya as your treating physician, that is a separate path: becoming a patient at one of her California locations.
Dr. Pandya will explain the mechanical nature of your reflux disease — how your anatomy is contributing to your symptoms, why the medications you've been prescribed are not designed to solve the underlying problem, and how the pieces of your workup connect to each other in a way that points toward real next steps. She will validate what you already know: that something is wrong. And she will show you, specifically, what to do about it.
Free reflux information is abundant and mostly generic, which is exactly why people spend years collecting it without ever getting an explanation that fits. The webinar is the full version of how a foregut surgeon actually thinks about this problem, in one sitting, from someone who operates on it. Start with the quiz and the guide, both free, and decide from there whether the longer explanation is worth it to you.
